John Albion the true friend of Lehigh Acres --- NOT

Excerpt from 7/24/06 News Press opinion section -----

Thanks for the bone

My husband and I moved here two years ago, and in that time we have read continuous articles or editorials regarding the expansion of S.R. 82. Recently a decision was made to move the project to expand S.R. 82 to the forefront.

All you have to do is drive to work during rush hour in the morning and sit at the Daniels Parkway light for 10-15 minutes to know we need S.R. 82 expanded. I find that it is about time Lehigh Acres is being put on the forefront for a change. In the two years we have been living here, Lehigh Acres is never mentioned. It is like this part of Lee County doesn't exist with regards to growth.

Most of the Fort Myers work force lives in Lehigh Acres, and what do we have to show for it? Nothing. Lehigh Acres garners 85-90 percent of taxes and impact fees for Lee County, but our roads are torn, we have next to no commercial development, and politicians like John Albion all but ignore Lehigh residents and their interests.

I would like to remind our commissioners and elected officials Lehigh Acres has taxpayers and voters who obviously have been ignored for too long. Maybe Lehigh was a bedroom community once, or even a bunch of farms and fields, but our time is here. Thanks for throwing us a bone and putting the S.R. 82 expansion at the forefront.

Editoral comment -- Weasel's are cute but get into everything ----

So is he leasing a house or what -- people want to know ????

Lee County Commissioner John Albion according to the Newspress has moved and now lives in the state House district he wants to represent.

Albion is running for the post now held by Rep. Bruce Kyle, who's running for circuit judge.

Also in the GOP primary for the House seat is attorney Nick Thompson.Albion had previously lived about a mile outside the House district."I lived in that district until 2002," when redistricting changed the lines, Albion said. "I didn't move, the lines did."

But close doesn't count in elections, so he moved in June to the newly outlined district.

We believe that Mr. Albion has moved to Stoneybrook of Gateway off SR 82 --- BUT Lee County Property Appraiser still shows home homesteaded at 9758 COUNTRY OAKS DR FT MYERS FL 33912
